We all root for each other and watch each other grow!

Welcome to Wimborne First School & Nursery

On behalf of the Children, Staff and Governors I would like to welcome you to Wimborne First School and Nursery.  We are an expanding school in Wimborne ranging from Nursery up to Year 4.  At our school we make sure that every decision we make is in the best interests of the children and their education.

We are very proud of our school ethos which is commented on by all visitors to our school.  We have approachable, professional and committed staff; dedicated and highly effective Governors; supportive and caring parents and the loveliest children.

Wimborne First School is a very special place indeed! As Head Teacher, I am proud to walk through the corridors hearing the sounds of children talking about their learning, having in depth group discussions, playing games with each other and hearing them laugh. There is awe and wonder in the atmosphere and a real buzz is felt in each classroom. The children love their learning and I want to make sure that they have the best possible start to their educational journey.

We believe the first few years of a child’s education are the most important as they shape the way they think, work and develop a love of learning.  Our aim is to inspire children, dream big and work together so we can equip them for their adult life.

All children have different needs at different times in their school life and we are here throughout to support them.  We treat every child as the unique individual that they are, valuing their ideas and personalities, and supporting their development as they explore their emotions, formulate their opinions and learn to respect the opinions of others.

We are a thriving and happy school with a lot to offer. Highly-trained teachers, who are dedicated to every child’s development, excellent maths and phonics programmes, high quality resources, fun, laughter and a real sense of belonging. We value Personal, Social and Health education and this is embedded in everything we do; we believe that if we give the children the appropriate emotional building blocks then they will succeed in all they do and will strive for their dreams and goals in life.

If you would like to see more for yourself, please come and have a look around our amazing and unique school.
