'Happily Ever After...'

Wow! The day of the ball finally arrived and what a spectacular event it was. The children had an amazing time and were wonderfully behaved. We started the morning off by entering the hall which had been magically transformed into the Royal Ballroom. The children enjoyed walking up the red carpet and showing off their finest clothing. After posing for a photograph on the royal throne, Mole and Hedgehog class performed a very special prince and princess dance to a smiling audience. We then relaxed and enjoyed a ‘boogie’ and a game of musical statues before settling down to a royal feast of food and drink. After all this excitement, the children could not believe their eyes when Cinderella and Prince Peter made a very special appearance to thank them for all their hard work.

We start our fantastic Autumn 2 topic with a week of 'Firework Fun' activities. We will be looking at firework safety, building rockets from junk modelling, creating firework pictures using chalk, ordering rocket numbers and making biscuit sparklers. Wow, what a great first week back at school!

'Marvellous Me!'

We are so excited to welcome a brand new class of Hedgehogs into Wimborne First School. After a fun summer, we start our first school term together with the topic 'Marvellous Me.' This will be a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and share all the wonderful things that you can do.

Long Term Plan 2015-16

A Few Reminders:

  • Our PE day is a Wednesday. Please ensure children have the appropriate, named PE kit in school. We also advise that your child does not have their ears pierced during term times as they cannot take part in PE with earings in. The summer holidays would provide a suitable healing period.
  • Book bags - please can your child bring their book bags to school every day.
  • Water bottles- we encourage the children to drink water regularly so please provide a named water bottle for them to bring each day.
  • As we move into the colder weather please ensure your child has a waterproof coat and wellington boots to change into when it is raining.

Please can you make sure all items of clothing and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child's name.
