Christmas at WFS 2020
We are getting ready for Christmas at WFS.
The school looks very festive and we have lots of lovely activities planned.
We hope you enjoy the photos below.
As we couldn't perform our usual live pantomime, here is our virtual Unexpected Christmas instead - we hope you enjoy it!
Father Christmas was unable to make his usual visit to school, this year, but he sent us a special message instead.
Because he couldn't visit us in person, Father Christmas sent two of his elves, along with Comet and Prancer, to visit us instead.
We learned some fascinating facts about them too.
Did you know, it is not just Rudolph who gets a red nose? When reindeer are in their normal home, it is VERY cold and, when they are looking for food in the snow, the blood rushes to their nose to keep it from freezing - so ALL reindeer get red noses!
We also learned that male reindeer are called bulls, females are called cows and babies are calves.
Both Comet and Prancer are due to have a calf in the spring, and they will soon lose their antlers so they do not harm their calf. They will start growing again in the spring and will grow 2 inches every day - amazing!
We were unable to go to the Minster this year, but we had a special, virtual Christingle in school.
We enjoyed a very tasty Christmas lunch - thank you to the festive lunch ladies!
All year groups decorated a Christmas tree for the Main Hall - don't they look great!
The Small Hall is decorated and ready for us to visit and buy our Christmas presents.
