Mrs Hartley

Mrs Hartley is our Headteacher

Category of Governor:

Staff Governor

Year Appointed:

2011
Professional Background:

I graduated from Bath Spa University in 1999 and secured my first teaching position in an infant’s school in Swindon.  After two years I relocated to Poole where I fell in love with early year’s education and spent 10 years working in Reception.  I also worked for the Borough of Poole supporting early year’s teachers in schools and pre-schools.  I worked up through the leadership ranks and eventually became Deputy Head and Acting Head Teacher of Ad Astra First School.  After 18 months of Acting Headship I secured the position of Head Teacher at Wimborne First School which has been a true privilege.

I am the Chair of the Children’s Centre Advisor Board for Corfe Mullen and Wimborne Children’s Centres and also Vice Chair of Poole SCITT management board.

Motivation for Becoming a Governor:

As Head Teacher of WFS I felt that to move the school forward and to secure the best education for every child that walks through our doors that it was only right that I became a Governor.  This meant that I could be part of the Governing Body and help them shape the future of the school for all the children who attend now and in the future.
