Professional Background
|
I have spent my career in various aspects of education. I started teaching in Dorset, and then moved to two Surrey schools and became a Deputy head. With the introduction of the first National Curriculum I was offered a contract as a countywide Advisory Teacher to support Surrey teachers.
I then moved into teacher training at Kingston University. After thirteen years as a senior lecturer in the School of Education, I eventually had the good fortune to return again to Dorset and was appointed as the Professional Coordinator of Poole SCITT. This was a perfect job, working with just 30 trainee teachers each year in partnership with some wonderful local schools.

Motivation for Becoming a Governor
|
It is a privilege to be able to continue my lifelong interest in education with a school as thriving as Wimborne First. Since retiring last year I am excited to be spending time again in school with the enthusiastic staff and governors and to have the opportunity to contribute something to the local community.
